An American Hero
This week we have had the wonderful opportunity to speak at two different schools for assemblies, Houston Academy and Northside Methodist Academy. It is only a couple of weeks until we kick off this year's event and it's easy for me to get caught up in details of making this the best it can be, but this week I was reminded WHY we do what we do. When I have the opporutunity to listen to a man, an American Hero, share the story of his life changing while he was protecting our freedom I am beyond grateful. When I see the students in these assemblies line up to shake the hands of these Heroes, I am moved. When I see the smiles on the faces of these men as they talk about the way they enjoy participating in our baseball games during Hits for Heroes, I know we are doing what we are called to do! America's favorite past time with America's Amazing Heroes.... A perfect combination!
